“Doc Of The Drakes” Is Still One Of Our Favorites

Still one of our favorite films, “Doc Of The Drakes” produced by Bryan Huskey and featured in our 2012 film tour begs the questions of “What does fly fishing mean to you, and why? What makes a day on the water waving a fly rod rewarding and how many fish do you need in the net to call the day a success?” Dr. Robert Franklin knew the answers to these questions, as fly fishing Silver Creek Idaho changed his perspective on life after Parkinson’s ended his career as a world renowned surgeon. “The Doc” credits fishing guide and companion Pete Wood with helping him find those answers.

Dr. Robert passed away in 2018, as memorialized by Silver Creek Outfitters, but this film which captures his radiant energy and optimism will forever memorialize what truly makes fly fishing so special.
