MARCUS WALKER
Marcus is the President of the Brisbane Fly Fishing Club and will cast to a puddle if he thinks a fish might lurk there. He has been fortunate to fish all over the world, but most enjoys being out in the wild with family and friends.

PATRICIO CHURRUARIN
Originally from Argentina and now based in Sydney, Pato has been fly fishing for more than 20 years, chasing pretty much anything with fins throughout Argentina and overseas.
After running RISE in Argentina for several years, he’s stoked to be back with the festival and hosting the Newcastle show in 2026.

Joe Manzano is the owner of Darkside Flies and Joe’s Flies Australia, with over 30 years of fly tying experience. Based in New South Wales, Joe is known for designing innovative patterns that have accounted for countless Murray cod, bass, trout and saltwater species across Australia and beyond. Passionate about sharing knowledge, Joe enjoys teaching fly tying techniques and helping anglers gain confidence in creating and fishing their own flies. Whether he’s behind the vice or on the water, Joe is driven by a commitment to quality, creativity and growing the fly fishing community.

CAMERON LUI
Meet Cameron Lui, born and raised in Bowral, NSW, and as local as they come to the Southern Highlands. Cameron guides with Haul Fly Fishing, and while he calls the highlands home, you’ll find him spending most of the season out on the drift boats in the Snowy Valleys, putting clients onto fish in some of the most stunning water in the country.

BRETT CHATWIN
I started trout fishing when I was 10 years of age. I was very lucky as I had two streams within walking distance of home that contained a good supply of trout. Like most anglers I started of using worms, then lures and in my early 20’s got my first fly rod. Once you catch your first fish on a fly there is no turning back. I started fly tying very soon after and the second thrill is to catch a fish on a fly you tied. I now have over 40 years’ experience both fly fishing and tying and enjoy passing on my experience and teaching in both fields. Looking forward to soon getting out now the new season has commenced in Tasmania.

ANGUS REYNOLDS
Angus has been guiding for a decade in the fresh waters of NSW. He has spent a lot of time from New England down to The Southern border of the state tracking great fishing and staying active. From flicking miniatures at galaxids to wrangling mighty Murray Cod, Angus loves fly fishing and loves sharing it with others. As the director of Haul Fly Fishing he enjoys collaborating with fellow guides to offer an interesting and diverse range of tours, courses and events. Whether drift boating, Mountain biking or hiking the ranges there is always a fun way to get to great fishing.

MATT JONES
Matt Jones is a young fly fisherman, hunter, and outdoor photographer based in Christchurch, New Zealand. Deeply embedded in the South Island’s outdoor community, he is widely recognized for his striking backcountry imagery and his passion for targeting wild trout in remote braided rivers.
Born and raised in Canterbury, Matt was introduced to fly fishing as a toddler. He spent his early years trailing his father along the lowland trout streams of the South Island. By the age of eight, he was casting his own fly rod, quickly developing a lifelong obsession with the sport despite the physical challenges of navigating overgrown riverbanks and deep river crossings as a child.
Matt is a passionate advocate for sight-fishing.
As an avid multi-sport outdoorsman, Matt combines fly fishing with hunting, duck shooting, and free-diving across the South Island’s rugged terrains. He is well known for his expeditions into the high-country lakes and alpine river systems utilizing helicopters or demanding pack-in hikes to access untamed waters.

PETER DE BOER
A Scottish Kiwi, I learned to fly fish for trout on Scotland’s world famous Loch Leven, and then salmon on the River Spey. Moving to NZ in 2007, I was like a kid in a lolly shop and could not believe the availability of world class trout fishing at virtually no cost! Since then I have filled my boots with some amazing experiences, wandering up rivers into the backcountry of both islands and hunting browns and rainbows in some of our amazing stillwaters.

GLENN EDWARDS
Born in WA’s trout country, Glenn became an avid angler very early in life. His time as a teacher took him all over the state and presented him with many opportunities to fish the fresh and salt water in Australia and in numerous exotic locations overseas.
Glenn loves all forms of angling but fly fishing is his passion- especially for trout, though several salt water species are also high on his list of favourite species to catch on fly- including blue bastards, giant tarpon, spanish mackerel and especially bonefish.
Glenn has written many feature articles for the Western Angler Magazine and further gives back to the sport through proof reading fishing articles and is a member of the West Australian Freshwater Fishing Advisory Group. He is a strong advocate for improved stream and impoundment management practices, greater access to public waters and increased opportunities for freshwater fishing in Western Australia.

CHARLIE ABRAHAMS
Charlie Abrahams has been fishing for over fifty years and emigrated from his native UK to New Zealand five years ago.
He is now President of Hamilton Anglers Club and a Committee member of Sports Fly Fishing New Zealand.
He’s has proudly represented both England and New Zealand in fly fishing international competition.

ROWAN ROBINSON
Rowan Robinson spent the first half of his career on the road, managing some of Australia’s biggest live acts — including Xavier Rudd, Seth Sentry, Drapht, Dead Letter Circus and Luca Brasi, and founding Macro Music along the way. These days he’s swapped tour buses for flats boats, working as a fly fishing guide for Aussie Fly Fisher, based out of the Central Coast of NSW.
Rowan guides the Blue Mountains and Snowy Mountains for trout and Murray cod, as well as trips further afield in New Zealand, Cape York and the remote Wessel Islands. He also works with BWCfllies, NSW’s dedicated fly fishing outfitters. Recreationally, he’s fished all over the world, combining a deep knowledge of both freshwater and saltwater fly fishing.

ANGELA BRADSHAW
Growing up Angela was a real Tom boy and loved nothing better than to hang out with Dad. It was those early days that sparked a passion that would stay with her for life.
Angela joined the Bridgewater Anglers’ Association (BAA) at the age of eight, and from that moment, her love for trout fishing and the Tasmanian highland lakes never wavered. She has remained a proud member ever since, and in 2025 made history as the first Female President of the Association. Angela also represents Bridgewater Anglers as a Delegate to the Southern Tasmania Licenced Anglers Association (STLAA) and is a member of the Devonport Fly Fishing Club.
A true country girl at heart, Angela is always happiest outdoors. After long days working as a Work Health and Safety Consultant for the Department of Police, Fire and Emergency Management, she heads straight for the lakes — her favourite way to unwind and recharge.
While Angela loves to fly fish, she’ll happily admit she’s a fair-weather fly fisher, and has no shame in setting down the fly rod for a favourite hard body or soft plastic when the mood calls for it.
Angela is passionate about getting more girls and women into fishing. NICHOLAS WOLFF-GILLINGS
Nick Wolff-Gillings, or Wolffy to most, runs Norfolk Wild — something that grew out of a fairly simple obsession with spending as much time outdoors as possible.
He’s a keen fly fisherman, hunter and general believer that most things are better when they involve a long drive, an early start and a bit of uncertainty about how the day might turn out.
Through Norfolk Wild, Wolffy is particularly passionate about helping grow the fly fishing community in Australia. Not by making it complicated or exclusive, but by getting more people onto rivers, putting fly rods in their hands and sharing the knowledge, stories and friendships that come with it.
For him, fly fishing has never really been about catching the most or the biggest fish. It’s an excuse to pay attention to a river, explore somewhere new, spend time with good people and occasionally get completely humbled by a fish with a brain the size of a pea.
He’s bloody excited to host tonight’s Fly Fishing Film Night and celebrate the people, places and stories that make this pursuit so addictive.
