Host a show

Our Host-a-Show program is perfect for anyone involved in fly fishing: tackle shops, fly fishing clubs, chapters or fly fishing event organizers. The F3T is more than just the film, our shows aim to create community, inspire, encourage and support conservation efforts worldwide.

Hosting your own film screening is a bit like being an Airbnb host. Become an entrepreneur in your own community, raise money for a cause or simply put on a fun and free event to bring your community together. This could be a one-off film night, an event that’s part of your business or a private screening. We license you the film and give you the tools to put on your event. All you need is a projector screen and sound. If you are using our national reels, simply download them (from our Portal) and you are good to go. You sell tickets and keep the revenue from your screening!

FAQs

What are the films?

The Official film selection launches in January of each year from a selection of the best fly fishing films in the world. Plus, we have an expanded selection of films available for our Host-a-Show hosts to customize films to your community’s preferences.

How do you select the films?

Through a submission process, films are selected to bring some of the best content to the big screen in your hometown.

What makes a memorable Host-a-Show event?

To make your community want to come back for more, ask yourself, what is the unique vibe of my town or community? What gets peoples’ blood pumping? Whether it’s screening the film during your fly festival, hosting a fun movie night for the local charity or organizing a celebration event after your fly competition, that’s where the magic unfolds. It’s all about crafting an experience that feels tailor-made for your fly fishing community. To add to the excitement of the event (and fundraise), you could organize a raffle, interviews with local fishing champions or highlight some of the important charities giving back in your community. So go ahead and get creative!

How much does it cost to Host-a-Show?

The license fee for F3T 2026 is $1,100USD (which includes over $900 worth of swag and prizes). We also offer multiple licenses for multiple locations, an All-Access 12-month package and a non-profit discount.

How do I choose a good venue?

Location is key. A school campus or community center works well because it’s low cost or free. Bars and breweries may give you free access to their AV equipment in return for a full venue of beer-drinking customers! A theater or cinema will charge a fee but will have good advertising and ticketing options. If you are charging for tickets, $15-20 is reasonable. But you can offer a group 10+ tickets price or Concession price.

How do I set up for the screening?

All you need is a projector screen and sound. We provide you with step-by-step instructions on how to access the Film Portal. By following these steps, users can easily navigate the Portal and download the film files. It is important that you download the files and play them in full prior to your event date to troubleshoot any problems that arise.  If you’re hosting the screening yourself, make sure you have a powerful computer that can handle the file size and video output and good quality audio for your room size. If you are having a live event with interviews and emceeing, please organise this in advance, ensure you have a microphone and have a separate person managing the tech on the day of the event.

How do I promote the film?

Engage with your local community! We provide you with a Media Kit including teasers, trailers, stoke reels, social media assets, film images and synopses of films. These assets can be used on your website, social media channels and traditional hardcopy posters and flyers. Creating a Facebook Event is a great way of engaging the community and F3T will “co-host”.  Notify local businesses, high-schools and community groups.  Give them discount codes and posters to put up and get them behind you. Your event will be listed on our F3T website schedule.

Can I create ticketing for the film?

You are welcome to use whatever Ticketing system you are comfortable with. We recommend using EventBrite. The Organizer Resource Hub is a wealth of information: https://www.eventbrite.com/resources/   Once you’ve booked your venue, date and time, we will list this on our website (with your EventBrite ticket link). And if you create a Facebook Event, please invite Adventure Entertainment as a co-host so we can also advertise the event.

Can I use local sponsors for the screening?

Yes! We’re dedicated to ensuring your show is as successful as possible and reaching out to local sponsors is paramount. Local sponsors can contribute cool giveaway items, fly gear, restaurant vouchers or even financial support to help offset your license/venue costs. Local newspapers and magazines can advertise your show on their calendar of events. F3T will also introduce the main sponsors at the commencement of the films who also provide SWAG at your event.

What date can I screen the films to my community?

Anytime you like: spring, summer, winter or fall! If we’re not running the Official F3T Tour in your town at the same time, it’s yours! We limit booking of other screenings within a 30 mile radius of your venue.
